Christiane Nielsen (born September 10, 1936 in Würzburg , † April 8, 2007 in Frankfurt am Main ) was a German actress .

Life

The native Christiane Maria Kraaz, daughter of a teacher, was initially a dental assistant. After receiving acting lessons, she played in Munich in the mid-1950s in the Theater unter den Arkaden. Since 1957 she has appeared in numerous feature films in German-language cinema. Most of the time she was only left with the role of an attractive sidekick . She had her first film appearance in the feature film , directed by Robert Siodmak , Night when the devil came , in the opening credits of which she was announced as "Christa Nielsen". In the Edgar Wallace film The Riddle of the Red Orchid , she played Cora Minelli, the wife of a gang leader, who most recently took revenge on his rival.

After two failed marriages, Christiane Nielsen married the Algerian greengrocer Miloud Ganga in 1963, whom she had met in Munich in 1961. She retired from the film business and moved with him to Oran , where she set up a bar for him. The daughters Alia (* 1964) and Myriam (* 1965) emerged from the marriage, which soon failed. Before her divorce in 1969, she returned to Germany, but could no longer build on her film career. In 1967 she was seen in the film Love Nights in the Taiga . After an appearance in the television series Father Brown , she was no longer offered any roles and from then on had to keep herself afloat financially with various activities (including as a cleaning lady). Most recently she lived in Frankfurt am Main.
