life and work

Christin Lutze graduated from high school in Berlin in 1995 and was then in France from 1995 to 1996 as part of a stay abroad. From 1996 to 2002 she studied fine arts at the Berlin University of the Arts and was a master class student with Marwan Kassab-Bachi . During her studies she received an Erasmus scholarship from 1998 to 1999 at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Venezia in Venice and in 2001 a Nica scholarship at the Ecole supérieure des beaux-arts de Genève in Geneva . She received several art awards.

Lutze's artistic means of expression include oil paintings , graphic works such as etchings , lithographs and copperplate engravings , as well as "paper works" in mixed media ( watercolor , gouache and acrylic on paper). One of the main themes is “urban architecture”, in which she “looks for a balance between rational and emotional elements” and, when dealing with the issues of space and landscape, also raises the question of the people who inhabit these spaces and landscapes ”. They remain invisible in their painted scenarios.

Numerous works by Lutze are in public and private possession at home and abroad, including in the art libraries of the Charlottenburg Palace Museum in Berlin and the city of Vechta .

Christin Lutze is a member of the German Association of Artists . She lives and works in Berlin, where she has her studio in the Künstlerhaus Alte Lederfabrik in Berlin-Pankow .
