Christoph Eigenmann (born May 22, 1979 in Wattwil ) is a former Swiss cross-country skier . He competed in the sprint discipline.

Career

Eigenmann took part in competitions of the Fédération Internationale de Ski from 1998 to 2014 . He ran his first World Cup race in March 2000 in Lahti , which he finished in 32nd place in the sprint. In December 2001 he got his first World Cup points in Cogne with the 14th place. At the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City , he came 18th in the sprint. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 2003 in Val di Fiemme , he finished 28th. In February 2005 he achieved a top ten placement in the World Cup for the first time with eighth place in Reit im Winkl . At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Oberstdorf in 2005 he came in 29th place in the sprint and 19th place together with Peter von Allmen in the team sprint. He had his strongest season in 2005/06 . He ran into the points in almost all sprint competitions. At the 2006 Winter Olympics in Pragelato , he reached 30th place in the sprint and 15th place in the team sprint. In March 2006 he took second place in Changchun, his best placement in a World Cup race. He finished the season in 27th place in the overall World Cup ranking and tenth place in the sprint ranking. In the Tour de Ski 2006/07 he won the sprint stage race in Munich . At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 2007 in Sapporo , he achieved 33rd place in the sprint and 12th place together with Remo Fischer in the team sprint. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Liberec in 2009 , he came in 16th place in the team sprint. In December 2009, he finished fourth in the team sprint in Düsseldorf . In his third and last Olympic participation in Vancouver in 2010 , he reached 34th place in the sprint. In December 2010 he took eighth place in Düsseldorf, his last top ten placement in a World Cup sprint. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Oslo in 2011 , he finished 40th in the sprint and 16th in the team sprint. In March 2013 he won bronze in the sprint at the Swiss championship in Sedrun . After the 2013/14 season he ended his career.
