Chronicle - The 20 Greatest Hits , also known as Chronicle, Vol. 1 , is a greatest hits album by the American rock band Creedence Clearwater Revival and was released by Fantasy Records in 1976 , almost four years after the group split up.

information

The compilation contains all of the band's successful singles from previous albums released between 1968 and 1972: Track 1 and 2 are from the album Creedence Clearwater Revival (1968), Track 3 from Bayou Country (1969), Tracks 4 to 7 from Green River (1969), tracks 8 and 9 by Willy and the Poor Boys (1970), tracks 10 to 16 by Cosmo's Factory (1970), tracks 17 and 18 by Pendulum (1970), and tracks 19 and 20 by Mardi Gras (1972 ). The eleven minute version of I Heard It Through the Grapevine is not included on the LP.

"Several of the band's individual albums are essential, but Chronicle is not only an excellent introduction to the group, it offers definitive proof that the group was one of the definitive singles 'bands of the late' 60s. Rarely has a greatest hits collection been so well-assembled. "
