Claude David Larose (born March 2, 1942 in Hearst , Ontario ) is a former Canadian ice hockey player (right winger) and coach who was active in the National Hockey League from 1962 to 1978 for the Montréal Canadiens , Minnesota North Stars and St. Louis Blues was.

Career

Larose played in the OHA during his junior years with the Peterborough Petes . In the 1962/63 season he came to his first assignments with the Montreal Canadiens in the NHL. Most of the time he played in the farm teams of the Hull-Ottawa Canadiens in the Eastern Professional Hockey League and the Omaha Knights in the Central Professional Hockey League .

He played his first full season in 1964/65 and was quite successful with 21 goals. The season ended with his first Stanley Cup victory. Successful years followed with two more Stanley Cups and participation in the NHL All-Star Game . For the 1968/69 season he moved with Danny Grant to the Minnesota North Stars . The two were among the team's top scorers in their two seasons together in Minnesota. Larose also became the team captain there .

For the 1970/71 season , the Canadiens brought Larose back for Bobby Rousseau . He played in a series with Henri Richard and Réjean Houle . This time he stayed in Montreal for four years and won the Stanley Cup twice more. Shortly after the beginning of the 1974/75 season , he was given to the St. Louis Blues . In 1978 he ended his active career with the Blues.

He stayed with the Blues and worked there as a scout. He later took a job with the Hartford Whalers . From 1983 he worked there as an assistant coach. He took over the AHL farm team, the Binghamton Whalers, for one season in 1988 . As a scout for the Carolina Hurricanes , he came to another Stanley Cup in 2006.

His son Guy , born in 1967, also played ice hockey successfully. From 1988 to 1995 he came to isolated missions in the NHL. In the 1997/98 season he played in the DEL for the Revierlöwen Oberhausen .
