Claude Rich
Claude Rich (born February 8, 1929 in Strasbourg , † July 20, 2017 in Orgeval ) was a French actor .
Life
Rich initially worked as a bank clerk. From 1949 to 1953 he completed an acting training with Charles Dullin at the Paris Conservatory. He was a member of the Ensemble des Théâtre National Populaire and wrote pieces himself. His film debut in René Clair's The Great Maneuver (1955) was followed by numerous roles as a lover in entertainment films (including in the hunt for men ). François Truffaut cast it in 1967 for one of the murder victims Jeanne Moreau in The Bride Wore Black . Édouard Molinaro gave him the second leading role as the charming blackmailer and heartbreaker Christian Martin in Oscar, alongside Louis de Funès . Alain Resnais gave him the lead role in I love you, I love you , for which he received the award for best actor in San Sebastian in 1968. Resnais also hired him for Stavisky . In addition to his cinema career, he was also very active on television. He played the leading role of Samuel Frend, who lives as a diplomat with his wife Suzan ( Claude Jade ) in Calcutta in the Franco-German ARD series The Big Secret . But the Frends are actually agents of the US secret service.
