Claude Rich
Claude Rich (born February 8, 1929 in Strasbourg , † July 20, 2017 in Orgeval ) was a French actor .
Life
Rich initially worked as a bank clerk. From 1949 to 1953 he completed an acting training with Charles Dullin at the Paris Conservatory. He was a member of the Ensemble des Théâtre National Populaire and wrote pieces himself. His film debut in René Clair's The Great Maneuver (1955) was followed by numerous roles as a lover in entertainment films (including in the hunt for men ). François Truffaut cast it in 1967 for one of the murder victims Jeanne Moreau in The Bride Wore Black . Édouard Molinaro gave him the second leading role as the charming blackmailer and heartbreaker Christian Martin in Oscar, alongside Louis de Funès . Alain Resnais gave him the lead role in I love you, I love you , for which he received the award for best actor in San Sebastian in 1968. Resnais also hired him for Stavisky . In addition to his cinema career, he was also very active on television. He played the leading role of Samuel Frend, who lives as a diplomat with his wife Suzan ( Claude Jade ) in Calcutta in the Franco-German ARD series The Big Secret . But the Frends are actually agents of the US secret service. He married actress Catherine Renaudin in 1959. The couple had two daughters Delphine and Nathalie and their adopted son Remy. Delphine Rich , born in 1961, is also an actress.
