Claudia Kern (* 1967 in Gummersbach ) is a German science fiction - horror - and fantasy - author , also called English-German translator working.

Career

Kern became known in the Fantastik scene in 1999 when she co-wrote the Bastei series Professor Zamorra . A little later, novels for the Maddrax end-time series followed by the same publisher . Claudia Kern also wrote novels for Germany's longest-running science fiction series Perry Rhodan and for its offshoot series Atlan . In 2006 she began working on the fantasy trilogy The Orphaned Throne , the first volume of which, Sturm , was published by Blanvalet in August 2008 . In the German science fiction - Magazine Space View of the magazine in 2011 was published from 1999 to setting a regular column by Claudia core. She has been leading this column, the “Nuclear Fission”, in Geek magazine since 2012! away.

As a translator, she works mainly for Panini . Her translations include books on computer games such as Warcraft and Halo (game series) , as well as the television series Battlestar Galactica and comics for the movie Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and the television series Buffy the Vampire Slayer .

Her first self-written novel is Anno 1701 : Kampf um Roderrenge , it is supposed to be the first novel in a book series.

In 2008 the first volume of a trilogy appeared, the novel Sturm: The Orphaned Throne , 2009 Volume 2 Treason: The Orphaned Throne and in August 2009 the third part: Vengeance: The Orphaned Throne .

In the computer game area, Claudia Kern designed the story for the space simulation Darkstar One and was also involved in the development of the adventure Secret Files 2: Puritas Cordis .

The series Homo Sapiens 404, which she designed and wrote, has been published by Rohde Verlag since July 2013 . The series was initially exclusively digital, designed for e-book readers, but since February 2015 printed anthologies have been available.

In her free time, Kern works at Fedcon and Ring * Con .
