Clown Ferdinand and the Rocket ( Czech : Klaun Ferdinand a raketa ) is a Czechoslovak children's film in the genre of science fiction film from 1963.

action

A city not mentioned by name in the morning. The clown Ferdinand , called Ferdi, prepares breakfast for himself and his talking parrot in his trailer . Since he does not have a radio, he misses the fact that the radio announces that a fast-flying alien flying object is heading for the city. The city is evacuated, and Ferdi drives his car "Klingeling" through the deserted streets to give a performance in a theater. But there is only the girl Helenka waiting for him.

While he is giving a performance to Helenka on stage, the boys Jirka and Honzik join in as spectators. After the performance, all four realize that the city is indeed deserted. They drive off with "Klingeling" pulling Ferdi's caravan. Suddenly the announced flying object lands in front of the city, which turns out to be a rocket-like spaceship . Ferdi and the children drive with "Klingeling" and the caravan through an open hatch into the spaceship, which immediately starts into space , from where the travelers can see the earth .

In the spaceship, in which there are no other living beings, they encounter a robot that can make itself invisible. Ferdi calls the robot, which can speak halfway, "Josef". While exploring the spaceship, they come across a machine that can reproduce any objects, such as B. umbrellas or dolls. Confusion arises when Ferdi tries to make pancakes for the children and lets them burn. Finally, it is possible to get "Josef" to land the spaceship back on earth, where the space travelers can leave the rocket again.
