Colin Ferguson (born July 22, 1972 in Montreal , Québec ) is a Canadian actor and director.

Ferguson was born in Montreal and grew up in Hong Kong , England and Connecticut . He was a member of the Montreal-based improvisational theater On the Spot and a founding member of The Second City in Detroit , an offshoot of the Chicago theater group of the same name . Ferguson mainly plays smaller roles in television series and films, for example in The Opposite of Sex , Malcolm in the middle or in CSI: Miami . He is best known to German audiences for his role as Sheriff Jack Carter in the series Eureka - The Secret City . In the cinema he was forbidden in films like falling in love or the house next door .

2010 Ferguson made his directorial debut with the film Triassic Attack.

Ferguson has been an advertising figure for household appliance manufacturer Maytag Corporation since 2014 .

In addition to his Canadian citizenship, Ferguson also has US and British citizenship.
