Colin Gordon (born April 27, 1911 in Ceylon , † October 4, 1972 in Haslemere , England ) was a British actor .

Life

Gordon attended Marlborough College and first appeared as an actor in London's West End in 1934 . Between 1936 and 1939 he headed the Fred Melville Repertory Company in Brixton . He then did his military service in World War II . He made his feature film debut in 1947 in the pilot film Jim the Penman , which, however, did not result in a series. As a result, he was a well-booked film and television actor until his death.

Among his most famous films were Roy Ward Baker War One came by in which he on the side of Hardy Kruger played, and Peter Sellers - Comedies The Mouse That Roared , The Pink Panther and Casino Royale . Gordon starred in two of the most important British television series of the 1960s. He was the number two opponent in two episodes of Patrick McGoohan's mystery series number 6 and played the airport commander in six episodes of Doctor Who . In 1966 he was Steve Forrest's assistant in the first six episodes of the crime series The Baron , before being replaced by Sue Lloyd .
