Coll Ian Donaldson (born April 9, 1995 in Edinburgh ) is a Scottish football player who plays for Ross County .

Career

Donaldson, born in the Scottish capital Edinburgh, began his career at the Tynecastle Boys Club from the Saughton district. Donaldson grew up in North Berwick during this time , and attended the local high school. In 2011, the then 16-year-old moved to Livingston FC . In January 2013 he signed his first professional contract with the Lions after he knew how to convince in the Youth Academy . In the same month he was on trial at Manchester United . In March 2013, the trained central defender made his professional debut for Livingston in the second division game against Dunfermline Athletic . By the end of the 2012/13 season , he played four more games for the team. In the following season 2013/14 he was used as a regular player 19 times until the winter break and scored one goal. In January 2014 Donaldson moved for a transfer fee in the low six-figure range to the English second division club, the Queens Park Rangers . With the Rangers from London Donaldson came only to a use for the first team. On the last day of the 2013/14 Championship against FC Barnsley , Harry Redknapp let him play for the full 90 minutes. Until the summer of 2015 Donaldson was mainly used for the Rangers in the Development League.

In July 2015, he signed a three-year deal in Scotland with Dundee United . A year before the end of his contract in Dundee, he moved to Inverness Caledonian Thistle . With Inverness he won the Challenge Cup in the final against FC Dumbarton in 2018 .
