Ross Cameron Stewart (born July 11, 1996 in Irvine ) is a Scottish football player who is under contract with Ross County .

Career

Ross Stewart started his career in the youth teams of the professional clubs FC St. Mirren , Partick Thistle and Celtic Glasgow . From 2013 he played in the Association of Scottish Juniors for Ardeer Thistle and the Kilwinning Rangers. In July 2016 he signed his first contract with a men's team, the Albion Rovers .

After a season with the Scottish third division club from Coatbridge , in which he had scored 12 goals in 25 league games, he moved back to his former youth club St. Mirren in 2017. After Stewart failed to score for the Saints in the first half of the 2017/18 second division season , he was loaned to Alloa Athletic in the third division . Here he met the opponent's goal seven times in 19 games in regular time. He also met three times in the play-offs and helped the club move up to the second division.

After his return to St. Mirren, which had meanwhile also been promoted, he played again in a game in the first division against FC Dundee . In August 2018, the second division Ross County signed him for a transfer fee. With the club, he immediately succeeded in being promoted to the Premiership as champions of the 2018/19 season . In the same year he won with the team in the Challenge Cup against Connah's Quay Nomads from Wales.
