The Confederação Brasileira de Orientação (abbreviated CBO ) is the national orienteering association of Brazil .

history

As early as 1994 Brazil was accepted as an associate member of the world orienteering federation IOF. This made Brazil the second Latin American country in the IOF after Cuba. On January 11, 1999, the CBO was founded in Guarapuava . José Otavio Franco Dornelles , who has had a significant influence on the history of orienteering in Brazil, was elected as the first president . By founding a national association, Brazil was accepted as a full member of the IOF at the IOF Congress in August 1999 in Inverness, Scotland .
