Cornelia Osterwald
Cornelia Osterwald (born March 25, 1975 in Altenburg ) is a German harpsichordist and lecturer in early music .
Career
Cornelia Osterwald studied piano , harpsichord and fortepiano at the "Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy" University of Music and Theater in Leipzig with Professor Helgeheide Schmidt and Professor Christine Schornsheim from 1993 to 2004 . This was followed by postgraduate studies in early music with Professor Ludger Rémy at the Carl Maria von Weber Academy of Music in Dresden , and again with Christine Schornsheim in Leipzig .
She also attended master classes and had private lessons with Walter Heinz Bernstein, Gustav Leonhardt , Andreas Staier and Menno van Delft .
Cornelia Osterwald appears as a soloist and continuo player , so u. a. at the Leipzig International Bach Festival , the Handel Festival in Halle (Saale) , at the Saxon Mozart Festival in Chemnitz and the Walkenried Cloister Concerts , as well as on Deutschlandfunk , MDR and NDR .
In addition, she has also made solo and chamber music guest appearances a. a. in the Chemnitzer Barockorchester, Mendelssohn Chamber Orchestra Leipzig, Neues Bachisches Collegium Musicum , Telemannisches Collegium Michaelstein , Brandenburgisches Staatsorchester Cottbus, Staatsorchester Halle, Brandenburgisches Staatsorchester Frankfurt (Oder) , Leipziger Barockorchester and Ensemble Frauenkirche .
From 2001 to 2012 , Cornelia Osterwald taught harpsichord , chamber music and accompaniment at the Georg Friedrich Händel Conservatory in Halle (Saale) and at the Institute for Music at the Martin Luther University in Halle-Wittenberg .
Since 2004 she has been teaching harpsichord, chamber music and accompaniment at the "Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy" University of Music and Theater in Leipzig.
In addition, she has been a lecturer for harpsichord at the Evangelical College for Church Music in Halle (Saale) since 2011 .
She played with Jörg Faßmann and Lenka Matějáková in the Baroque Trio Dresden-Leipzig .
Cornelia Osterwald has made numerous CD and radio recordings.
