Craig Wood (film editor)

Craig Wood (* in Sydney , Australia ) is an Australian film editor .

Life

At the age of 19, Craig Wood was an assistant editor in the documentation department of the public broadcaster Australian Broadcasting Corporation . After a few commercials for editing the Budweiser Frogs commercial, Wood received a Clio Award in 1996 , and music videos, including for Janet Jackson , Kylie Minogue and Björk , ended up in film. Although he was responsible for editing the Australian science fiction film Spirits of the Air, Gremlins of the Clouds as early as 1989 , his film career did not begin until the late 1990s. He has worked with Gore Verbinski for years since the 1996 short film The Ritual . Until 2013 he edited all films for him, including The Mexican , Rango , the first three Pirates-of-the-Caribbean films and Lone Ranger . He worked with James Gunn on the comic book adaptations Guardians of the Galaxy and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 . With Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018) he was involved in his third production from the Marvel Cinematic Universe .

Craig Wood is a member of the American Cinema Editors .
