Csökmő is a large municipality in the small area Berettyóújfalu in the east of Hungary . There are other settlements in the municipality:

history
First written mention in 1219 in the Váradi Regestrum (Latin: Regestrum Varadiense), Varadinum and Várad are older names of Oradea . At the time of the landscape survey 1782–1785 there is a settlement of Zekménÿ at the presumed location of Csökmő , right by the lakes.
