Cuba City is located in southwest Wisconsin, 6 km west of the Galena River and around 20 km east of the Mississippi , which forms the border with Iowa . The Illinois border is 7 miles south of the city. The geographical coordinates of Cuba City are 42 ° 36'20 "north latitude and 90 ° 25'47" west longitude. The urban area extends over an area of 2.8 km².
Neighboring towns are Platteville (10 miles north), Belmont (13 miles northeast), Benton (5.1 miles southeast), Hazel Green (8.4 miles south), and Dickeyville (15.4 miles west).
