The event and city magazine curt , which is available separately for the Nuremberg / Fürth / Erlangen and Munich regions , combines journalistic and illustrative content from the areas of lifestyle and culture . In parallel to its online presence, it will be produced in printed form and offered free of charge in public places. The Nürnberger curt appears almost monthly with ten issues a year (the months July / August and December / January each share one issue) and has a circulation of 15,000 copies. The distribution takes place at 450 points (agencies, educational institutions, hotels, museums, bars, cafes, clubs, shops, theaters, galleries, sports / leisure centers and tourist information centers). In addition, since its debut in 2001, 7,000-10,000 copies of the sister magazine curt München have been available three to four times a year at 30 locations in the state capital.

Origin / history

The first edition of the Nürnberger curt was put together in 1997 by the communication designer Reinhard Lamprecht in home work. It was originally a simply structured party guide, which in the following years steadily developed into a magazine with a wide range of content. In 2012, the Nuremberg editorial team consisted of five to seven permanent and almost 30 freelance employees. The magazine consisted of about 180 pages and was produced in A6 format.

On January 1, 2014, the computer scientist Gerald Grömmel, a childhood friend of Lamprecht, joined curt Media GmbH as a partner . He programmed the website curt.de/nbg, which went online for the first time in April 2014. In autumn 2014, the format of the print version, which is now around 130 pages, was changed to A5. At the same time, a conceptual change took place: the two managing directors have been the only permanent editors responsible for the thematic diversity of the magazine since October 2014, with the support of around twelve freelance employees.

Employee

The art historian Natalie de Ligt , who is renowned for the exhibition 100 Heads of Tomorrow, summarizes the events in the art scene in the Nuremberg region every month. The theater critic Dieter Stoll is responsible for the monthly overview of what is happening on the stage in Nuremberg, Fürth and Erlangen. The comedian Matthias Egersdörfer , multiple winner of the German Cabaret Prize , has contributed an episode of his free column to each issue since 2012 .

Other columnists and editors working for curt and at the same time winners of the culture award of the city of Nuremberg are Andreas Radlmaier (head of the project office in the cultural department), Theobald Fuchs (doctorate in physics ), Tobias Hacker aka Gymmick (comic artist), Bernd Pflaum (singer of the band The Audience ) as well as David Lodhi and Thomas Wurm (both members of the band Wrongkong ).

Target group and categories

The magazine has already been dubbed the "Nightlife Bible of the City" by the Nürnberger Nachrichten . It focuses on a target group between the ages of 18 and 68 who are interested in culture and who are characterized by a strong affinity for fashion, music and brands. The readership is equally male and female and has a high proportion of students and academics . Your areas of interest should be reflected as broadly as possible through the categories art, design, theater, gastronomy, nightlife, city life, sports and new media. The main focus is on the regional scene (maxim: "Support Your Locals").
