Cyrill Geyer (born March 26, 1981 in Zurich ) is a former Swiss ice hockey player who played most of his career with the SC Rapperswil-Jona Lakers .

Career

Cyrill Geyer began his career as an ice hockey player at EHC Chur , for whom he made his debut in the National League B in the 1999/2000 season and immediately rose to the National League A as a second division champion . In his rookie year , the defender received two penalty minutes in a total of 27 games and remained pointless. During the following season he was in twelve games in the NLB for HC Servette Genève on the ice, in which he scored a goal and was an assist. However , he spent most of the 2000/01 season at EHC Chur, for which he prepared a goal in 31 NLA games.

In the summer of 2002, Geyer moved to Chur's NLA league rivals SC Rapperswil-Jona Lakers , for whom he played until his first resignation in 2015. Since the Lakers were relegated from the National League A this year, Geyer was convinced to continue playing for one more season. After two more contract extensions, the defender announced his final resignation in the 2017/18 season. In his last season he crowned his career with the cup win and the rise of the Lakers to the National League.

International

For Switzerland , Geyer took part in the 2005 World Cup, where he finished eighth with his team.
