Dávid Csizmár

Dávid Csizmár , also called David Csizmar (born February 27, 1981 in Budapest ) is a Hungarian - German singer ( baritone ) and choirmaster .

Life

Csizmár was born in Budapest in 1981. At the age of 4 he had his first music lessons and at the age of 6 he started playing the piano. During his musical school years, Csizmár learned to sing, first in the Kálmán Nádasdy music school, then in the Leó Weiner Conservatory. He was also active as a choir singer.

From 2000 he was a student at the Liszt School of Music in Budapest, first as a choir conductor in the class of László Norbert Nemes, then from 2002 as a singer with Zsuzsa Forrai. In 2002 he won 3rd prize at the Jenő Ádám singing competition. In 2005 he was named "Singer of the Year" according to a cultural website ("Feher Elephant").

After completing his bachelor's degree at the Music Academy, Dávid Csizmár moved to Germany and studied at the HMT Rostock until 2009 , in the class of Klaus Häger and Karola Theill . In 2013 he completed his concert exam at the same university with distinction. Between 2009 and 2012, Dávid Csizmár worked as a freelancer in several German radio choirs ( SWR Vokalensemble Stuttgart , NDR Chor Hamburg , RIAS Chamber Choir , Rundfunkchor Berlin , MDR Rundfunkchor Leipzig ). He was a member of the Stuttgart Chamber Choir and the Schleswig-Holstein Festival Choir. He continues to work as a soloist and chorister of the Purcell Choir Budapest and the Gächinger Kantorei Stuttgart . In addition, he has solo engagements mainly in oratorio and song .

In the 2009-2010 season, Csizmár sang the bass part of the Bach Cantatas series of the Orfeo Orchestra in Budapest. The concerts were broadcast on Hungarian radio . With the same ensemble he participated in the Hungarian premiere of the opera “ Hippolyte et Aricie ” by Rameau . In 2013 he made his stage debut at the Hungarian State Opera in Budapest with the same piece .

Csizmár was a soloist at the SHMF Choir Academy 2010 under the direction of Stefan Parkman . In June 2011 he appeared under Helmuth Rilling , in August 2013 under the direction of Hans-Christoph Rademann , as a soloist of the Gächinger Kantorei . In autumn 2014 he sang again with the RIAS Chamber Choir as its guest singer and choir soloist Ligeti's "Drei Phantasien" and a world premiere by the Dresden composer Torsten Rasch .

Since January 2012 Dávid Csizmár has been a permanent member of the NDR Choir Hamburg . As a choir soloist he has been heard under the direction of Paul Hillier , Stephen Layton, Thomas Hengelbrock , Eric Whitacre and the choir director Philipp Ahmann
