D-Block & S-Te- Fan are a Dutch hardstyle - DJ - and music producer duo. Both are currently under contract with the record label Scantraxx Records, where they run their own sub-label called Scantraxx Evolutionz . From 2015 to 2017 they were also active in the field of big room music under the pseudonym DBSTF .

Live and act

Until 2014: role in hard style

After both Bakker and the Daas had already enjoyed a musical childhood, they met for the first time in 2004. Both quickly realized that they had common musical interests. So in 2005 they decided to perform together as a DJ team .

Shortly after starting their musical careers, both had their first successes. So pieces by them were also performed by hardstyle greats. In 2006 the musical breakthrough came with Keep it Coming . The duo now also appears at major hard dance events around the world , such as Defqon.1 , Qlimax or Q-Base . They were voted 40th in 2011 and 64th in 2012 in the DJ Mag Top 100.

With the albums Music Made Addictz , which was released in autumn 2009, and Rockin 'Ur Mind , which was released in January 2011, they reached the Dutch charts for the first time.

2015–2017: DBSTF

Another great success is the track Beautiful World , which they produced with the Dutch big-room duo Blasterjaxx . Although it was assumed that, similar to the cooperation between W&W and Headhunterz, a mixture of hardstyle and electro-house would emerge, the production turned out to be a predominantly big-room-heavy track. This was also the reason why they used the pseudonym "DBSTF" on this single. Shortly afterwards, the duo remixed the song in hard style under their actual name. The song is sung by the American singer-songwriter Ryder, known for her collaboration with the Dutch DJ and producer Dyro. The track received almost exclusively positive reviews and was able to advance to the top of the Beatport Top 100.

After the two hardstyle productions Louder with Rebourne and Higher as a double single with Drop it Down , another big room release with the title Do Your Thing was released on April 6, 2015 via "Doorn Records". In August 2015, a progressive house-inspired production with the Dutch DJ duo Sick Individuals was released . It wasn't until January 2016 that the duo first heard from. Unlike Beautiful World and Do Your Thing , this release no longer had any hardstyle features, but was described as rather special. Their second single with Sick Individuals, which was released on "Revealed Recordings", was based on a style similar to Parnassia , which made it more and more established as a trademark of DBSTF. Also Afreaka , which W & W's " Mainstage Music built" in on their big-room style, but was praised in particular for its build-up, which had also progressive house features.

After the progressive house-influenced collaboration with Dash Berlin , Waka Flocka Flame and DJ Whoo Kid , which was called Gold , the third collaboration with Blasterjaxx appeared. The song was called Hit Me and was made by Go Comet! sung. It was premiered by Blasterjaxx during their performance at the Ultra Music Festival 2016. The song sounded rather unusual for both DBSTF and Blasterjaxx, but it was very popular for that. Like Parnassia, the release took place via Blasterjaxx '"Maxximize Records".

Towards the end of 2016, they released the song Everything Changed , which acted as the anthem for the WiSH Outdoor Festival. This followed again for the first time With the so-called "Dedicated Mix" a version appeared in a hardstyle guise. Shortly afterwards they published a collaboration with the newcomer Maurice West on “Mainstage”, called Temple , which was particularly praised for the recognition value of both styles. The same thing happened with the song Noise , which was released on January 16, 2017 and is a collaboration with Dannic . This moved up to the top of the Beatport genre charts, but did not appear as expected on Dannic's “Fonk” or Hardwell's “Revealed”, but on Blasterjaxx's “Maxximize”.

In an interview with the organizer Q-Dance , they said that the alias was used to experiment with sounds outside of the hard style. Over the years, they could have both received inspiration for their hardstyle productions and reinvigorated their passion for that scene.

In 2019 they returned to their pseudonym DBSTF once. They did this for the release of a follow-up single to their most successful DBSTF release, Beautiful World , which was created in collaboration with Blasterjaxx. Together they released Wonderful Together on June 14, 2019 with vocals from singer Envy Monroe.

Since 2017: return to hard style

On June 26, 2017, they released a single with their original hardstyle project for the first time in a long time. This was titled Angels & Demons and was their first independent release on “Scantraxx” since 2015. This was followed by the songs Antidote and By Myself (via “Mainstage Music”) as the first single releases from their upcoming studio album. On December 12, 2017, this was released as the third studio album under the title Antidote . The hardstyle productions included were all released as promo singles in the previous weeks.

The song Twilight Zone was released on March 23, 2018 . In May 2018 the song The Ultimate Celebration followed together with Frequencerz as the hymn for the 14th edition of the Intents Festival. In June 2018 they released the single We Don't Stop (Lights Out) in collaboration with MC Villain. The female vocals were provided by Bakker's sister Evelyn. In August 2018, the song Ghost Stories was released , which was created as part of the final show of the Defqon.1 festival.

Podcast
