DR series VT 135.5
The Deutsche Reichsbahn classified the two-axle railcars of the non- Reichsbahn's public transport railways in the Soviet occupation zone and the GDR , which were taken over from April 1, 1949, into the number range 135 501ff . The numbering scheme came into effect on January 1, 1950.
The following number ranges were provided according to the existing drive system:
- 135 500 to 135 509: Otto engine with mechanical power transmission
- 135 511 to 135 549: Diesel engine with mechanical power transmission
- 135 551 to 135 559: Diesel engine with electrical power transmission
Sidecars were assigned to number groups 140 501ff and control cars in 144 500ff.
