Dan Fitzgerald

Daniel Louis Fitzgerald (born December 30, 1928 in Oshkosh , Wisconsin , † November 21, 2017 in Miami , Florida ) was an American actor .

Life

Fitzgerald served in the Korean War after finishing school . Following his military service, he moved to California, where he completed an acting training at the Pasadena Playhouse . After his first small appearances, he turned away from show business and worked in Miami as a fashion promoter. Soon he also founded his own modeling agency , with which he organized numerous beauty contests in Florida. In the 1970s he returned to the film and television business.

He made his feature film debut in the shark film Mako, the Beast . In 1980 he had a minor supporting role as a doctor in the science fiction film The Last Countdown on the side of Kirk Douglas and Martin Sheen . Fitzgerald was best known to the German-speaking film and television audience for his roles alongside Bud Spencer and Terence Hill ; in Bud, the Ganovenschreck he portrayed Senator Edward Anderson, in Two Strong Guys he was seen as a hotel concierge. In 1991 he appeared alongside Bud Spencer and Philip Michael Thomas in an episode of the television series Two Super Types in Miami . He has also made guest appearances on A Duke Seldom Comes Alone and Miami Vice . His last appearance on the big screen was in 2005 in the comedy In My Sister's Shoes ; however, this was only an extra .

Fitzgerald was married to his wife Dolores for 62 years, who died in 2016. The marriage produced a son.
