Dancé is a town and commune Déléguée in the French community Vézelin-sur-Loire with 171 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Loire in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016 Rhône-Alpes ). The inhabitants are called Dancéens .

On January 1, 2019, the municipality of Dancé merged with Saint-Paul-de-Vézelin and Amions to form the Commune nouvelle Vézelin-sur-Loire. The municipality of Dancé belonged to the Arrondissement Roanne and the canton Boën-sur-Lignon (until 2015 Saint-Germain-Laval ).

Dancé is 67 kilometers west-northwest of Lyon on the Loire . The municipality of Dancé was surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Bully in the north and northwest, Cordelle in the northeast, Saint-Paul-de-Vézelin in the east and southeast, Souternon in the southeast and Saint-Polgues in the west.
