Daniel Francis Walsh

Daniel Francis Walsh (born October 2, 1937 in San Francisco ) is former bishop of Santa Rosa in California .

Life

Daniel Francis Walsh was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of San Francisco on March 30, 1963 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him auxiliary bishop in San Francisco and titular bishop of Tigias on June 30, 1981 . The Archbishop of San Francisco, John Raphael Quinn , donated him episcopal ordination on September 24 of that year ; Co- consecrators were Michael Hughes Kenny , Bishop of Juneau , and Joseph Anthony Ferrario , Auxiliary Bishop of Honolulu .

He was named bishop of Reno-Las Vegas on June 3, 1987, and inducted into the office on August 6 of the same year. With the division of the diocese on March 21, 1995, he was appointed bishop of Las Vegas and on July 28 of the same year in the office. He was named bishop of Santa Rosa, California on April 11, 2000, and was inducted into the office on May 22 of the same year. He resigned from his office on June 30, 2011.
