Daniel Pred , also Dan Pred, (born November 19, 1963 in Aberdeen ) is an American musician and film producer . He became famous as the drummer of the rock formation Dan Reed Network , of which he is a founding member.

Daniel Pred was born to Jack and Susan Pred and began playing drums in seventh grade. In 1979 he met Dan Reed in a music store in his hometown , with whom he founded the band "Nightwing". When Reed moved to Portland in 1981 , Pred stayed in Aberdeen to finish school. After graduation, he moved to Los Angeles in 1982 and took classes at the Percussion Institute of Technology .

In 1984 Pred Dan Reed followed to Portland and founded the band Dan Reed Network with him, with whom he released three studio albums and one live album in addition to an EP . After the band ended their career in 1993, Pred joined the Dan Reed Network keyboardist Blake Sakamoto as a member of the group "Generator", which later renamed itself "Slowrush" and in 2000 released an album ( volume ). He also played on the album LetDownCrush by the band 16 Volt. In 2004 Neil Zaza released an instrumental recording of the Dan Reed Network song Forgot to Make Her Mine on his album Melodika , which was recorded around 2001 with Blake Sakamoto, Pred, Brion James and Melvin Brannon .

In 1995, Pred founded a video production company ("Video Media"), which still exists today.

Since 2007 he has been a member of the Oregon Music Hall of Fame through the inclusion of "Dan Reed Network". In December 2012 he appeared again with the group for the first time, further concerts followed in 2013 during a European tour. For 2014 the band is planning to perform at various European festivals.
