Daniel Schmutzhard

Daniel Schmutzhard (* 1982 in Aldrans ) is an Austrian opera singer ( baritone ).

Life

Daniel Schmutzhard was a soloist with the Wilten Boys' Choir under Johannes Stecher and began studying with Karlheinz Hanser at the Tyrolean Conservatory in Innsbruck while still at school and continued his studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna with Ralf Döring.

From 2005 to 2011 he was a permanent member of the ensemble at the Vienna Volksoper and from 2011 to 2018 at the Frankfurt Opera . At the same time he also works as a guest, among others at the Bregenz Festival , at the Theater an der Wien , at the Berlin State Opera , the Paris Opera and the Komische Oper Berlin . He has been working as a freelancer since the 2018/19 season.

He has been married to the opera singer Annette Dasch since 2011 and has two children.
