Paul Schweinester (born 1985 in Innsbruck ) is an Austrian opera singer with a tenor voice .

Career

Paul Schweinester was able to gain professional experience as a soprano soloist at the Wilten Boys' Choir, trained by Johannes Stecher, at the Tyrolean Festival Erl , as Prince Yamadori in Madama Butterfly in Mumbai, at the Vienna Chamber Opera and at the Wiener Festwochen as Romeo in an opera by Georg Anton Benda with new compositions by Ulrich Krah . From 2009 to 2013 Schweinester was a member of the ensemble of the Vienna Volksoper , where he appeared in musicals, revues, operettas and operas. He was, among other things, Freddy in My Fair Lady , the Knirps in Hans Werner Henze's Wundertheater , Wenzel in The Bartered Bride and Pedrillo in Die Entführung aus dem Serail . He completed his studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna in 2012 with a master's degree .

In summer 2012 he was a member of the Young Singers Project of the Salzburg Festival and sang the Monostatos in a Magic Flute production for children, as well as smaller roles in the large festival productions The Soldiers and La Bohème . He also made guest appearances in the United States with the song cycle Die Schöne Müllerin , with Haydn's Die Jahreszeiten in Eisenstadt's Esterházy Palace , with Mozart's C minor Mass KV 427 in Le Mans, Anges and Nantes. In Hamburg he gave a Schubert / Britten recital with Lech Napierala on the piano.
