Daniel Tranca (born February 11, 1994 in Miercurea Ciuc ) is a Romanian ice hockey player who has been playing at ASC Corona 2010 Brașov in the Romanian ice hockey league and the MOL league since 2015 .

Career

Club

Daniel Tranca, who belongs to the Hungarian-speaking Szekler minority in Romania , began his career at SC Miercurea Ciuc , the traditional Szekler club for which he played in the Hungarian U18 league. In 2010 he moved to the Hungarian capital club Ferencvárosi TC , where he played in the club's various youth teams, but was also used in the MOL league and the Hungarian ice hockey league. In 2011 he returned to Romania, where he played again at HSC Csíkszereda , as SC Miercurea Ciuc is now called, in the Romanian ice hockey league and the MOL league. In 2012 and 2013 he was with the team Romanian national champion and 2014 cup winner . In early 2015 he moved to CS Progym Gheorgheni , for which he played the season in the Romanian league to the end. He then moved to ASC Corona 2010 Brașov , for which he has since played in the Romanian and MOL leagues. With Corona he was again Romanian champion in 2017.

International

In contrast to other Szeklers who compete for Hungary , Tranca plays internationally for his native Romania . He was already active in the junior division at world championships: he took part in the U18 world championships in 2010 , 2011 and 2012 as well as in the U20 world championships in 2011 , 2012 and 2013 in Division II.

Tranca made his debut in the men's national team in November 2012 when qualifying for the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi . At the 2015 World Cup , he represented his colors in Division II and was promoted to Division I. There he played at the 2018 World Cup . He also represented his colors in the Olympic qualification for the Winter Games in Pyeongchang 2018 .
