content

Paris 1792: The executions of the French aristocracy have reached their bloody climax. Against this background, the celebrated actress Marguerite St. Just falls in love with the rich English aristocrat Sir Percy Blakeney, who is generally regarded as not very courageous, but much more interested in fashion and gimmicks than in politics. Little does she suspect that this is all just a facade and that her future husband is the leader of a group of Englishmen who liberate French nobles from captivity and thus save them from certain death. Chauvelin, who always sought the favor of Maguerite and repeatedly pressured her to decide for him and the revolution, was commissioned by Robespierre to look for the scarlet seal . Only gradually does he find out that this is his lover's husband. Numerous intrigues develop, the newlyweds fall apart and everything is heading for the final confrontation between Chauvelin and the Scarlet Seal .
