Dave Spoon (* 1977 in Portsmouth , actually: Simon Neale ) is a British House - DJ and producer .

biography

Simon Neale has been listening to various styles of electronic music since his youth, from synth-pop , to acid house , hardcore and drum and bass . In middle school he came into contact with the synthesizers TB-303 and Juno-60 .

In 2004 his production "21st Century" was released on the Toolroom Records label and received support from DJs such as Pete Tong , Roger Sanchez and Erick Morillo . The follow-up production "Sunrise" was released on the Big Love label by Seamus Haji .

Dave Spoon's breakthrough came in 2006 with "At Night". The song became a huge hit on the dance floor and was played by well-known DJs such as Deep Dish and Tiësto . In the following year, vocals from Lisa Maffia were added to the song and as "Bad Girl (At Night)" it reached number 36 in the British single charts . In 2008, Spoon, along with Sam Obernik and Paul Harris, had another hit in the UK Top 40 with “Baditude”.

From February 2008 to May 2009, Spoon was a regular on the lineup of the weekly radio show In New DJs We Trust on BBC Radio 1 .

Together with Pete Tong, Spoon has already released two productions as Tong & Spoon : "Gas Phase" (2008) and "Muchness" (2010).
