David Dukes

David Dukes (born June 6, 1945 in San Francisco , California as David Coleman Dukes , † October 9, 2000 in Lakewood , Washington ) was an American actor who played in 100 film and television productions between 1970 and 2000 . Including in films like I love you - I love you - je t'aime , The First Deadly Sin , One Morning in May , The Men's Club , Appointment with an Angel , Gods and Monsters or Stephen King's House of Damnation .

life and career

David Coleman Dukes was born in San Francisco, California in 1945. Dukes, who decided to become an actor at an early age, studied acting in San Francisco at the American Conservatory Theater . He began his acting career in 1970 in Hollywood in a supporting role in the western series The People at Shiloh Ranch .

In his over 30-year acting career, he played numerous character roles, including in George Roy Hill's romantic comedy I love you - I love you - je t'aime (1979), in Brian G. Hutton's thriller The First Deadly Sin (1980), in Glenn Jordan's comedy Mrs. Hines & Daughter (1981), in Stanley R. Jaffe's mystery film One Morning in May (1983), in Peter Medak's drama The Men's Club (1986), in Tom McLoughlin's fantasy comedy Date With an Angel (1987), in Alan J. Pakula's drama Second Happiness (1989) or in Bill Condon's literary adaptation Gods and Monsters .

David Dukes died of a heart attack on October 9, 2000 at the age of 55 on the set in Lakewood. He made his last appearance in the US television miniseries Stephen King's House of Doom . It was dedicated to him posthumously in 2002.

After his death, a David Coleman Dukes Memorial Scholarship was established at the University of Southern California School of Theater . It is awarded annually on his behalf for exemplary commitment to acting. "

David Dukes was married twice. The marriage to Carolyn L McKenzie lasted from 1965 to 1975, the marriage to Carol Muske-Dukes lasted until his death in October 2000. His grave is in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale.
