David Malinowski

David Malinowski is a makeup artist and special effects artist .

Life

Malinowski began his film staff career in 1997 as a trainee on the London Weekend Television series London's Burning . After several other television productions, his first feature film was the 2001 comedy The 51st State directed by Ronny Yu . In the early 2000s, he specialized in working with prostheses . He has worked under such renowned directors as Steven Spielberg , Tim Burton , Miloš Forman , Sam Mendes and Wes Anderson .

2018 won Malinowski for Joe Wright's period drama The darkest hour along with Kazuhiro Tsuji and Lucy Sibbick the Oscar in the category Best makeup and best hairstyles . He also received a BAFTA Film Award nomination in the Best Mask category .

In addition to his film engagements, Malinowski has also worked for television, including the series Band of Brothers , Come Fly with Me , Doctor Who , The Sarah Jane Adventures and Downton Abbey .

In 2018 he was appointed to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences , which awards the Oscars every year.
