Dawda Jallow (athlete)

Dawda Jallow (born December 22, 1966 ) is a track and field athlete from the West African state of Gambia , who specializes in the short distance . He participated in four Olympic Games and led the country's delegation as the flag bearer in 1988, 1992 and 1996. During this time he was a member of the University of Georgia . Jallow holds the national record over 400 meters.

Olympia 1984

Dawda Jallow took part in two competitions at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles :

• In the 400-meter race , he ran 48.36 s in the first run, was seventh in this run and thus did not qualify for the next round.
• In the 4 × 100 m relay competition he ran with Bakary Jarju , Abdurahman Jallow and Sheikh Omar Fye . Jallow ran as second of the season, which was last in the run-up with 40.73s and thus could not qualify for the semifinals.

Olympia 1988

Dawda Jallow took part in a competition at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul :

• In the 400-meter race he ran 46.91 s in the first run, was third in this run and qualified for the next round. In the second round he ran 46.95 s in seventh place and did not qualify for the next round.

Olympia 1992

Dawda Jallow took part in a competition at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona :

• In the 4 × 100 m relay competition he ran together with Momodou Sarr , Abdoulie Janneh and Lamin Marikong . Jallow ran as the first of the season, which was last in the run-up with 40.98 s and thus could not qualify for the semifinals.

Olympia 1996

Dawda Jallow participated in three competitions at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta :

• In the 400-meter race , he ran 46.73 s in the first run, was fifth in this run and thus did not qualify for the next round.
• In the 4 × 100 m relay competition , he ran together with Momodou Sarr , Cherno Sowe and Pa Modou Gai . Jallow ran second in the season, which was last in the run-up with 41.80 s and thus could not qualify for the semifinals.
• In the 4 × 400 m relay competition , he ran together with Momodou Drammeh , Lamin Drammeh and Assan John . Jallow ran as the first of the season, but the run did not end and could not qualify further.
