DeMarre LaEdrick Carroll (born July 27, 1986 in Birmingham , Alabama ) is an American basketball player who plays for the Houston Rockets in the National Basketball Association .

Career

Carroll played at Vanderbilt University until his sophomore season . In 2006 he moved to the University of Missouri .

He signed up for the 2009 NBA Draft and was selected 27th by the Memphis Grizzlies . After about a year and a half, he was transferred to the Houston Rockets . After a few games, he was released from the Rockets. In December 2011, he signed with the Denver Nuggets , but was released after four missions. In February 2012 he was signed by the Utah Jazz . In the Jazz, Carrol started in 9 of the remaining 20 games and was part of the fact that the Jazz qualified for the 2012 playoffs.

In the summer of 2013, Carroll signed a two-year deal with the Atlanta Hawks. With the Hawks, Carroll developed into a regular player and achieved career highs with 11.1 points, 5.5 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.5 steals. After another successful season with the Hawks, in which he scored 12.6 points per game and reached the conference finals of the Eastern Conference with the Hawks, his contract expired in the summer of 2015. He then agreed with the Toronto Raptors on a $ 60 million four-year contract. On July 13, 2017, the Brooklyn Nets announced Carroll's signing from the Raptors.
