Intoxicated by his new divine abilities and guided by the god of death Ryuk, the young man begins to kill those whom he considers unworthy of life. Together with his new girlfriend Mia, he wants to rid the world of criminals. But when more and more criminals die inexplicably and the police investigations under the direction of Light's father James come to nothing, the master detective L comes on the scene. The brilliant investigator must use all his skills to finish the proceedings.
production
In 2008, Warner Bros. secured the rights to a film based on Death Note . Warner engaged the duo Charles and Vlas Parlapanides as scriptwriters, and the film is to be produced by Roy Lee, Doug Davison, Dan Lin and Brian Witten. On January 13, 2011, it was announced that Shane Black would direct.
On April 27, 2015, it was announced that Adam Wingard , who most recently worked in that capacity for the film Blair Witch , will be directing .
In April 2016, The Wrap reported that Warner Bros. had decided to stop producing the film. But the studio allowed Wingard to realize the project elsewhere. On April 6, 2016, Netflix bought the film rights from Warner Bros for $ 40-50 million. Production began in British Columbia on June 30, 2016, supervised by Lin Pictures and Vertigo Entertainment. The release was announced via Netflix for August 25, 2017.
synchronization
The German dubbing was based on a dialogue book by Andrea Greul by the dubbing company RRP Media GmbH under the dialogue direction by Torsten Sense and Rainer Raschewski .
