Dejan Janča

Dejan Janča (* 1928 in Subotica , Vojvodina , Kingdom of Yugoslavia ; † July 3, 2010 in Novi Sad , Vojvodina, Serbia ) was a Yugoslav or Serbian lawyer , diplomat and university professor .

biography

Janča studied after school attendance law and was temporarily director of the Center for European Studies of the Institute of International Politics and Economics in Belgrade . After working as the ambassador of Serbia and Montenegro to Hungary , he was a lecturer at the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs .

Later, as a professor, he was head of the Department of International Law and International Relations of the Law Faculty of Novi Sad University . He was also a human rights expert on the UN Human Rights Committee in New York City and a member of the Humanities Committee of the European Science Foundation in Strasbourg .

In October 2009 he was elected Ombudsman for the Vojvodina Province .

In addition, he has written more than fifty essays on international law , in particular on questions of human rights , international relations and European law.
