Delaila Amega (born September 21, 1997 in Heerhugowaard ) is a Dutch handball player who belongs to the squad of the Dutch national team.

Career

Delaila Amega started playing handball in her hometown at Handbalvereniging Tornado. After the backcourt player subsequently played for Westfriesland SEW , she joined Virto / Quintus in 2014 . She has been under contract with the German Bundesliga club TuS Metzingen since the 2016/17 season . With Metzingen she was in the final of the DHB Cup in the 2016/17 season . For the 2020/21 season, she will switch to league rivals Borussia Dortmund .

Amega initially played for the Dutch youth and junior national team. With these teams she took part in the U-17 European Championship in 2013 and in the U-18 World Championship in 2014 . On September 27, 2017, she made her debut for the Dutch national team. With the Dutch selection, she won the bronze medal at the European Championships in 2018 . At the 2019 World Cup , she won the World Cup title in the final against the Spanish selection.
