Lena Sophia Degenhardt (born May 31, 1999 ) is a German handball player who plays for the German Bundesliga club TuS Metzingen .

Career

In the club

Lena Degenhardt grew up in Ebingen , a district of Albstadt . She learned to play handball at the HSG Albstadt club located there . In the summer of 2015, the backcourt player moved to VfL Pfullingen . Although Degenhardt was still a youth player, she ran in the 2015/16 season for the women's team in the major league , in which she scored 133 goals in 20 games.

Degenhardt joined the second division team SG H2Ku Herrenberg in 2016 . In addition, she appeared for TV Nellingen in the A-Juniors Bundesliga . From the 2017/18 season she was a member of the Bundesliga squad of TV Nellingen. For the 2019/20 season, Degenhardt moved to league competitor TuS Metzingen .

In selection teams

Degenhardt ran for the German youth and junior national team. With these teams she took part in the U-18 World Cup in 2016 , in the U-19 European Championship in 2017 and in the U-20 World Cup in 2018 . She also took part in the U-19 European Beach Handball Championship in 2015. Degenhardt contributed a total of 45 points to winning the bronze medal.
