Deniz Cooper

Deniz Cooper (born April 1, 1985 in Vienna ; real name: Deniz Raunig ) is an Austrian actor and director.

Life

He grew up with his mother Eva Raunig in Vienna. His father Hamdi Döker is a film producer. After graduating from the Gymnasium Stubenbastei , he studied law at the Law Faculty of the University of Vienna . He also worked in film, in front of and behind the camera. Cooper played his first role in 2004 in Spiele Leben , a Coop99 feature film directed by Antonin Svoboda , which premiered at the 2005 Toronto International Film Festival . Numerous appearances in Austrian and German TV and feature film productions followed.

In February 2019, his first own film " Fish learns to fly " celebrated its premiere at the Berlin International Film Festival 2019 in the section Perspektive Deutsches Kino . Cooper took on the direction of the film, which he wrote and produced with Salka Weber . The Austrian premiere took place during the Diagonale - Festival of Austrian Films in March 2019 in Graz.
