Nikolai Nerling

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Nikolai Nerling (born 1980 ), alias Der Volkslehrer , is a right-wing extremist and anti-Semitic video blogger . He was released from service at a Berlin elementary school in May 2018 without notice . In December 2019 he was sentenced to a fine by the Dachau District Court for sedition . He laid appeal against the judgment.

Video blogs

Nerling founded the YouTube channel Der Volkslehrer on September 22, 2017 , on which he published videos with anti-Semitic and conspiracy ideological positions. In addition to his own contributions, he also published interviews with self-confessed Holocaust deniers such as Ursula Haverbeck and Gerhard Ittner as well as people from the Reich Citizens' Movement . He also reported on his participation in right-wing extremist events and demonstrations in which he tried to educate people about an alleged " Zionist-Jewish world conspiracy " with his own leaflets and posters .

The channel was blocked by YouTube in April 2019, but shortly afterwards some of its videos were available on a new channel. Before his first channel was blocked, Nerling had over 60,000 subscribers. Individual videos were accessed over 100,000 times. Nerling operates its own website and channels on the Telegram messaging service and the BitChute video portal . In March 2020, the original channel was available again on YouTube.

After the initiation of state measures to contain the COVID-19 pandemic in Germany , Nerling published a video in mid-March 2020 with the title “Corona Conto Holocaust” in which he presented the German Infection Protection Act as a “tool of the federal government ” to “get rid of unpleasant citizens ". It is also not certain whether the novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 even exists.

Employment and processes

Since February 2009, the state of Berlin has employed Nerling as a primary school teacher, most recently at a primary school in the Gesundbrunnen district . He was released in May 2018 because of his right-wing extremist videos and then terminated without notice. The trigger for this was a report by the newspaper Der Tagesspiegel . At that time, 38-year-old Nerling sued the labor court , which dismissed his suit in the first instance. In September 2019, he withdrew his appeal . This means that he is no longer allowed to teach in public schools in Berlin.

In December 2019, the Dachau District Court sentenced Nerling to a fine of 10,800 euros for sedition and trespassing because he had denied the Holocaust in front of students at the Dachau concentration camp memorial in February 2019 and filmed it without permission. Nerling appealed the judgment. Prior to this, Nerling had also filmed his visit to the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp memorial and published it on YouTube, in which he questioned the number of victims, berated a group of schoolchildren that they would be “ inoculated into a ' guilt cult '”, and referred to Anne Frank's diary as "Made fun of childish fantasy product". Under threat of an injunction , Nerling was forced to take the video offline.

In February 2020, the Frankfurt am Main regional court issued two preliminary injunctions against Nerling after he had published video clips in January 2020 in which he read anti-Semitic statements as alleged quotes from Immanuel Kant , Richard Wagner and Benjamin Franklin . In March 2020, the Berlin public prosecutor brought charges against Nerling, among other things for "playing down the atrocities of National Socialism, denying [s] the Shoah, showing [s] the Hitler salute as well as insulting and physical abuse".

Others

At the German Evangelical Church Congress 2017 , Nerling disturbed, as the new right-wing monthly magazine peculiarly freely reported, a minute's silence for drowned refugees by shouting the phrase “I'm not silent”. In February 2019, he took part in a right-wing extremist event in Budapest to commemorate the Battle of Budapest , at which the Waffen SS was also paid homage. In October 2019 Nerling was awarded the negative golden aluminum hat in the category “general conspiracy theories”. In February 2020, Swiss television SRF reported on Nerling's networking function in the neo-Nazi and Holocaust denier scene. In April 2020 Nerling took part several times in unauthorized protest events against the ordinances of the Berlin Senate to contain the COVID-19 pandemic , since May 2020 under the slogan "Right and left against FRG fascism in Berlin".
