Thomas Borchert is looking forward to his goddaughter Jenny, who is completing a practical semester in Albania for her training as a pediatrician. At the airport, as part of the baggage check, half a kilo of hashish is seized from her, which Jenny assures she does not know anything. Borchert and Dominique Kuster want to find out who might have put the hash on her. They also have to solve the murder of an entrepreneur who was involved in crooked business.

Rainer Tittelbach from Tittelbach.tv rated Borchert and the Dead in the Lake with 4 stars and wrote: “The seventh film in the Degeto series“ Der Zürich-Krimi ”(Graf Film) was a thriller that could hardly be surpassed in terms of high tension. In comparison, episodes eight and nine turn out a number smaller in various ways. "
