Norbert Hähnel
Norbert Hähnel (born October 18, 1951 in Bünde ) is a singer from Berlin-Kreuzberg . He was the owner of the record shop Scheißladen and ran the Enzian bar in Kreuzberg until it had to close in October 2007. He also worked for a time as an organizer of punk concerts.
Life
In May 1980, Hähnel opened his record store Scheißladen in Berlin-Kreuzberg. Along with a few other shops, it was one of the distribution centers for underground music from punk and experimental music to the Neue Deutsche Welle , which offered small-edition records, but above all pre-recorded music cassettes that were produced and copied without much capital investment, sometimes even in the living room .
For the first anniversary of his record shop, Hähnel appeared in the punk club Risk disguised as Heino and mimed several songs via playback. Die Toten Hosen hired him as a support act and went on tour with him. To this end, he invented a fictional biography, according to which Heinz-Georg Kramm came into contact with black musicians on a tour in South Africa and wanted to record a record with them. His record company EMI had forbidden that because it did not fit into their marketing concept for Heino. Kramm then terminated the contract without notice, moved to West Berlin and felt that he was properly understood "among squatters, left-wing radicals, migrants and punks" for the first time. EMI then hired a doppelganger to play Heino for them.
The real Heino, Kramm, sued the "real Heino" Hähnel in 1986 and obtained an injunction from the Düsseldorf Regional Court . As a result, Hähnel was no longer allowed to perform as "Heino" and had to pay DM 10,000 fine . Die Toten Hosen, Rocko Schamoni and Die Goldenen Zitronen played a benefit concert for Hahnel in 1986. Hahnel accepted the money with thanks, but refused to pay the fine and instead served 20 days in jail . Hähnel expressed the suspicion that the "real" Heino had only sued him because he feared that his fans might slowly overflow to him, the real Heino .
The last concert of the "real Heino" took place in the Berlin Tempodrom . Following this, the "real Heino" was ceremonially "buried". In addition to the Toten Hosen, Die Ärzte and Fury in the Slaughterhouse were guests at the farewell concert.
In 1987 he closed the shit shop and opened a pub called Enzian, which he ran until 2007.
On the occasion of the 1000th Toten Hosen concert on June 28, 1997 in the Düsseldorf Rheinstadion , the “real Heino” celebrated a highly acclaimed “resurrection” in the form of a short appearance as one of several supporting acts. In 2009 he was on stage with the band at a benefit concert at SO36 and sang together with Campino Eisgekühlter Bommerlunder . On April 10, 2012, “the real Heino” was the guest of honor on the stage of the Bremen slaughterhouse at the anniversary concert for the 30th anniversary of Die Toten Hosen.
In 1995, Hähnel and Bela B. were the top candidate for the Kreuzberg Patriotic Democrats / Realistic Center . In the 2005 Bundestag election he ran in the Berlin constituency of Friedrichshain - Kreuzberg - Prenzlauer Berg Ost as a direct candidate for Die PARTTEI and received 1,363 first votes (0.8%).
At the end of 2012, Hähnel suffered an accident on the way to the premiere of the film Nothing but the Truth - 30 Years of Die Toten Hosen in Düsseldorf, in which he was hit by a car and seriously injured. In mid-February 2013 he was planning further concerts with Die Toten Hosen.
