Derepazarı is a Turkish coastal city on the Black Sea and the capital of the district of the same name ( İlçe ) in the province of Rize . The city is eight km west of the provincial capital Rize . According to the city seal, the place was raised to a municipality (Belediye) in 1954.

The circle was formed in 1990. Until then he was a Bucak in the central district (Merkez) Rize and had 11,773 inhabitants (= 7.22% of the then district population) at the last census before the change of area (1985), of which the Bucak capital (Bucak merkezi) 4,587 inhabitants.

At the end of 2018, the district consisted of eleven villages ( Köy ) with an average of 451 residents in addition to the district town . Kirazdağı (1,008 pop .) Was the largest village.
