Fındıklı ( Laz Vi3'e) is a Turkish coastal town on the Black Sea and the main town of the district of the same name ( İlçe ) in the province of Rize . The city is about 60 km northeast of the provincial capital Rize . According to the city seal, the place was raised to the status of a municipality ( Belediye ) in 1948 .

The district Fındıklı forms the northeastern border of the province of Rize, bordered to the northeast and southeast of the province of Artvin and in the west and southwest to the county Ardeşen . The district was formed in 1948 and, in addition to the district town (64.3% of the district population), consists of 23 villages ( Köy ) with an average of 262 residents. The population scale ranges from 883 ( Sumer ) down to 59 ( Doğanay ). Ten of the villages have more inhabitants than the average. With its population density (44.1 inh. Per km²), the district reaches just half the provincial value (90.9).

The main rivers in the county are Arılı Deresi in the south and Çağlayan Deresi in the north.
