Desiree Nicole Linden (born July 26, 1983 as Desiree Nicole Davila ) is an American long-distance runner who specializes in the marathon .

Career

Desiree Linden comes from Chula Vista . After studying psychology at Arizona State University , she joined the Hansons-Brooks Distance Project in autumn 2005 .

At the road running world championships in Debrecen in 2006 she came in 43rd place and in 2007 in Udine in 34th place. In 2008, she was runner-up in the Houston half - marathon, with her personal best of 1:12:10 h.

She made her debut over the 42.195 km distance at the 2007 Boston Marathon , where she finished 19th in 2:44:56 h and qualified for the US qualifying match for the Beijing Olympic Games , which the previous evening of the 2008 Boston Marathon. In this she finished 13th in 2:37:50 h. In the Chicago Marathon of the same year she was fifth in 2:31:33 h.

At the marathon of the World Athletics Championships 2009 in Berlin, she finished eleventh and improved her personal record to 2:27:53 h.

In 2010 she was at the IAAF World Indoor Championships in Doha tenth over 3000 m and fourth in the Chicago Marathon.

On August 14, 2016, Linden finished seventh in the marathon of the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro with a time of 2:26:08 h.

At the Boston Marathon 2018 she took first place with a time of 2:39:54 h.
