Dessislawa Stojanowa ( Bulgarian Десислава Стоянова ; English Desislava Stoyanova ; born April 10, 1992 in Berkowiza ) is a Bulgarian biathlete .

Career

Dessislawa Stojanowa made her international debut in 2009 as part of an IBU Cup sprint in Bansko . In fourth place, she not only won points in the first race and achieved a single-digit position, but also missed a podium position by just one place and was also the best non-Russian starter. It is her best placement to date in the second highest international biathlon racing series. The first major event was the 2010 Biathlon Junior World Championships in Torsby , where the Bulgarian finished 46th in the individual, 27th in the sprint, 45th in the pursuit and 15th in the relay. Shortly afterwards she also took part in the junior races of the 2010 European Biathlon Championships in Otepää and came in 42nd in the individual, 39th in the sprint and 40 in the pursuit race. Stojanowa brought good placements with 14th place in the individual, four in the sprint, seven in the pursuit and six with the relay at the 2011 Biathlon Junior World Championships in Nové Město na Moravě . This was followed by renewed participation in the junior races of the Biathlon European Championships 2011 in Ridnaun , where she came 14th in the individual, as in the World Cup, in sprint 38th and with the relay came in ninth place. The first highlight among women was the 2011 Biathlon World Championships in Khanty-Mansiysk . Stojanowa was 96th of the sprint, with Nija Dimitrova , Miroslaw Kenanow and Martin Bogdanow 25th with the mixed relay and with Emilija Jordanowa , Nina Klenowska and Dimitrova 12th with the women's relay .

At the beginning of the 2011/12 season , she made her debut in a pure World Cup race in Hochfilzen and finished with the 13th season. Between 2011 and 2013, she competed in all three biathlon world championships . In 2013 , in Le Grand Bornand , she achieved a place in the World Cup points for the first time with rank 27 in a sprint.
