Detlef Rosellen (born October 31, 1946 in Minden ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

The striker and left winger Detlef Rosellen began his career at Minden 05 . In 1963 he was a member of the A youth team, which became Westphalia champion with a 2-1 win over VfL Bochum . He then moved up to the first team in Minden and rose to the state league with the 05ers in 1966 . Two years later he moved to the north German regional division FC St. Pauli and was third with the Hamburg team under coach Erwin Türk . His regional league debut had brought a 3-1 home win against Concordia Hamburg on August 17, 1968 and the newcomer from Minden had stormed on the left wing at the side of center forward Ulrich Kallius . After only one year at Millerntor, he moved to league rivals 1. SC Göttingen 05 . With the black and yellow zero fives he finished fifth after 31 league appearances with four goals under coach Hans Hipp and alongside teammates such as Heinz-Dieter Hansing , Peter Klepatz , Thomas Rohrbach and Hans-Joachim Weller . Now he joined SV Röchling Völklingen for the 1970/71 season in the summer of 1970 .

With the Völklingern Rosellen was in his second season in Saarland, in the 1971/72 season , under coach Radoslav Momirski runner-up in the Regionalliga Südwest and moved into the promotion round to the Bundesliga . There, the Saarlanders came last with players like Jürgen Stars (goalkeeper), Klaus Hommrich , Hans-Werner Kremer , Robert Pötzschke , Claus Schygulla , Klaus Ondera and Walter Spohr behind Kickers Offenbach, Rot-Weiss Essen, St. Pauli and Wacker 04. Rosellen then returned to North Rhine-Westphalia and moved to SG Wattenscheid 09 , with whom he was champion of the Regionalliga West in the last year of the old second-rate regional league in 1973/74 . In midfield, driven by Jürgen Jendrossek and Hannes Bongartz , the Wattenscheider attack ran mostly with Helmut Horsch , Ewald Hammes and Rosellen. In the following round of promotion to the Bundesliga, coach Karl-Heinz Feldkamp's team came third.

Rosellen then played for Wattenscheid for three years in the newly created 2nd Bundesliga before ending his career in 1977. The team from the Lohrheidestadion started the debut year of the new Bundesliga foundation with the new signing from Argentina, Carlos Babington , as the previous playmaker Bongartz had switched to FC Schalke 04.

Detlef Rosellen played 62 games in the 2nd Bundesliga and scored seven goals. There are also 171 regional league games and 22 goals as well as 14 promotion round games in which he scored two goals. After the end of his career he worked in the Steilmann company of Wattenscheid President Klaus Steilmann .
