They emerged in 2017 from Telekom Shop Vertriebsgesellschaft mbH (TSG), previously called T-Punkt Vertriebsgesellschaft mbH (TPG).

Distribution also includes around 700 Telekom Shops, where a portfolio of products and services for everything to do with telecommunications and IT is presented on a sales area of around 78,000 square meters . Some branches internally referred to as partner agencies are run by franchise partners.

All Telekom shops are available to private customers nationwide. Part of it was set up with competencies for medium-sized companies, freelancers and self-employed.

history

In 1986, what was then the Deutsche Bundespost opened its first telephone shops. They were often housed in the buildings of the telecommunications offices or post offices . The telephone shops partially took over the tasks of the registration offices of the telecommunications system of the Deutsche Bundespost towards the telephone subscriber (e.g. acceptance of telephone service requests). In the phone shop there was only a small selection of devices that were only offered for rent at the time.

With the creation of the Federal Post Office TELEKOM by the Postal Reform I in 1989, the diversity in phone shops was greater as it is primarily due to the entry into force of the Postal Services Structure Act liberalized market was characterized by a significant product differentiation and first prize fighting on July 1, 1989th As of 1992, all telephone shops were renamed "Telekom-Laden".

After the Postreform II and the establishment of Deutsche Telekom AG, it was decided to change the name of the branches again. In 1997 the renaming of the Telekom stores to T-Punkt was completed.

renaming

In November 2007 all T- Punkt shops were renamed to Telekom Shop . When the new T-Home website was designed in 2007, there was only talk of Telekom Shop early on . In September 2007 it could be read in the WirtschaftsWoche .

The former T-Punkt Vertriebsgesellschaft was renamed Telekom Shop Vertriebsgesellschaft mbH in spring 2008 . In all internal and external media in the Deutsche Telekom Group, only the term Telekom Shop is used. The T-Punkt brand has not been used in public communication since the end of March 2008.

Strategic direction

A number of new Telekom shops have been opened since 2006 . In addition to opening its own branches, the Telekom Shop Vertriebsgesellschaft is also relying on the support of franchise partners. For example, the company BVJ Shop Management GmbH (formerly The Phone House) has opened over 50 Telekom shops since 2006. For customers, the partner branches do not differ from other Telekom shops: the product, service and service portfolio is almost the same, only invoice data cannot be viewed by the partner shops. The shop fitting is also identical.

While the Telekom Shop Vertriebsgesellschaft is to concentrate on larger cities when opening its own branches, smaller and medium-sized cities with a catchment area of 40,000 to 90,000 inhabitants as well as attractive city districts are planned for the partner Telekom Shops.
