Diclomezin is a chemical compound from the pyridazinone group and a fungicide introduced by Sankyo in 1988 .

Extraction and presentation

Diclomezin can be obtained from toluene and succinic anhydride . Their product is chlorinated using aluminum chloride. In the next step, the pyridazine ring is formed through reaction with hydrazine hydrate . Reaction with bromine leads to the end product.

use

Diclomezin is a fungicide with a curative and protective effect, which inhibits septum formation and mycelial growth .

It is used against fungal diseases in rice such as Rhizoctonia , Corticium , Sclerotium , Typhula .

Admission

Diclomezin is not approved as a crop protection agent in the European Union or Switzerland .
